Powerful Mercurial Insights
Creating and Creativity are the Essence of who we are
Dear Soul Friend, Family, and Mate,
I have been diving deep this mercury retrograde. You may have too, whether wanting to or not. This particular mercury retrograde has been a doozy. But it has also been powerfully insightful.
I actually enjoy having mercury retrogrades throughout the year. I find them to be incredibly powerful. It becomes a prompt to slow down, and to look back. I often loot at what needs closure, completion or finishing.
They provide an ebb to the flow of energy. I find that mercury retrogrades act as a recalibration of the past and present so that I move forward with greater ease.
I know mercury retrograde gets a bad rap but it is actually beneficial for timing, energy and forward movement. In a world where we continually move too fast, it is actually necessary or we would never stop. They give us all a chance to refine, reflect and remember.
Mercury retrograde helps me to relax more and more into my nature.
My endless quest is toward my true nature. I believe we have all torqued and twisted ourselves out of shape in order to fit into this world. The soul journey focuses on unwinding, loosening up and remembering. Relaxing.
This mercury retrograde slowed my outer machinery enough for my inner witness to speak to me. The wheel on my Mac kept spinning. Zoom meetings froze constantly. Glitches electronically kept occurring. And yet, this was good. These experiences gave me moments to breathe, relax, and let go of time. And I still was able to complete the things that required completion.
Revisiting, editing, revising, and refining became so fruitful during this time. I was able to clarify more and more where and how I want to spend my time. By engaging in reflection during this period, and a lot of walking meditation, a lot has shifted inwardly and on the outside.
Mercury Retrograde always creates a beautiful container for me. I tune in and listen more carefully. I slow down, noticing my impulses and motivations in a different way. I question things. Is what I am currently doing still alive in me, or am I am trying to extract an outcome from it? I hope you embrace these moments to serve both your human journey and your soul growth. And if you did to, do not worry. Another one will be around soon enough.
My insight this mercury retrograde:
there is a difference between creation and extraction.
Creation is generative. It is connected to life-force, curiosity, and sincerity. It is a spiritual act of union and devotion.
Extraction is anxious. It wants results before relationship. Extraction looks for proof before presence, wanting outcomes without devotion.
As we move into the age of individuality, it is important to not be consumed by trends. It is necessary to not fall into the trap of speed, especially with AI being the rage now. We must not become sheep instead of shepherds.
In my experience, this new age is a time to trust gifts, skills, and talents without turning them into a sales campaign for the nervous system.
We must engage our humanity now more than ever.
There is a quiet dignity in creating because something in me must be expressed. I am enriched when I create—whether writing, painting, gardening, or sewing—and bring things into form. Not everything must be optimized. Grace is remembering that my presence is enough. And knowing, my creations will find their way to the people who are ready for them.
That trust is not passive. It feels like spiritual maturity. I am not here to chase. I am here to sit in my majesty (just as you are) and let my essence express through what I create.
I do not need to feed the shadow side of urgency.
I do not need to exploit fear to prove value.
I do not need to convince people they are behind.
I do not have to let fear and manipulation fill my energy field.
I continually choose a different path: one of authenticity, patience, coherence, and faith. I think this is where Mercury retrograde becomes most useful. It not only reveals the heart’s communication, but also brings insight to the ethics of creation. Over the last month, I asked myself many questions:
What truly fills me up?
What would make me feel alive and how do I want to spend my time?
What kind of relationship do I want with my work?
With my audience?
With my timing?
With the unseen support that carries me?
Answering these questions was nourishing. They brought clarity and refinement to my thought processes and work. Consider exploring some of these yourself.
When I am rooted in creation rather than outcome, something settles. I remember that I am taken care. I am aligned. The work itself is my nourishment and my play. I become aware that not every offering needs to shout in order to matter. That is the deeper grace of this season for me.
Just before the mercury retrograde, I initiated a new creative venture. Mercury retrograde has supported me in staying focused and aware of its vision and direction. It kept me aligned and clear. And I found that the greatest gift of this mercury season was restraint. It built a sense of trust within me. I am anchored in the knowing that what is meant to be known will be known in its own right time.
How have you utilized this mercury retrograde season?
Look over what the past month was attempting to tell you. Receive your own powerful insights. As this mercury retrograde season closes this weekend, I hope you take time to reflect today. You may still use her energies today and tomorrow. I call mercury retrograde “her” because she is an energy of going back in, and connecting to your core; you womb. Mercury retrograde is a deeply feminine energetic container. It is always wonderful time to review the balance of your masculine and feminine energies.
