Dear Soul Friend, Family, Mate…
I have sat down to write so many times in the last ten days. Although many ideas swirled within me, my head, and amidst my energy in this time, I continued discerning the gentle whisper to… pause… wait… listen.
In doing so, I find myself led to something else; to some place else, other than my computer.
I am clear… I am not being distracted, because I feel inspired movement inside — gently stirring within the depths of my subconscious; inside my cells, blood and body.
I also know the choice to pause to be correct… because I am led into acts of creative expression — different than productivity — such as soul centering communion in gardening, painting, or simply walking. I find myself communicating and communing with the earth, sky, plants, rain, and wind.
I discover myself speaking aloud to my father, who passed last year.
I awaken into connections within the world that are beyond words. I am with the world and its experiences… holding them, witnessing them… loving her, sorrowful with her, praying and laying along side her, and apologizing for any part of my consciousness that is contributing in any way to what harms, hurts and hinders.
The Pause…
This pause is unique. It is deeply human and intimate. It is silent, but its energetic ripples resounds. It holds rhythmic and sensual movement, but is also very still at the center. This pause radiates with tender beauty and love. It is reverent toward what is past, present and all possibilities of future.
This pause is kind. Gentle. It is loving. Sacred. It is a deep slow in breath that holds itself until it can no more, and then the deeply satisfying out breath of emptying to feel the full relaxation of every organ, muscle, tissue and limb.
And yet — even with all of this — the pause might appear to be nothing, of no importance, have no real purpose, or impact… to the eye, mind, ego or other.
But somehow I know… I KNOW… it holds immense purpose. It is of great impact. It is something far greater than most of the busy activity that infiltrates the world. The trees show me this. The mountains model this. A calm sea radiates this. A flower models this.
A pause is … powerful activism, prayer, and service.
We must learn to trust the instinctual, intuitive, subtle and illogical, organic nature of ourselves. So often, what we want from our hearts, what we feel to do from our spirits, and where we are led by our bodies is far more intelligent than what the mind would control, strategize, or design.
Pauses lead to what fuels my spirit, and fills my heart. They allow me to give the best of myself to others. They make the space to receive what is beautiful, simple and present.
Oftentimes, what my mind wants to do exhausts me… just at the thought of it. That is a sensory sign of what is not for me in the moment. It may be for me in another moment, but not this one. It may never be for me if it never holds lightness, joy and enthusiasm. This is the important work.
I, you, we, and they… bring ‘light’ and ‘love’ to the world when fully embodying our spirits through manifest expressions of joy, gratitude and fulfillment.
It is important to recognize the exhaustive conditioning taken in from society and early childhood. And then, once recognized, it is necessary to become cognizant of not being continually swept away by such conditioning. Pauses not only decondition, but they also reorient.
The pause facilitates a return toward Essence and the natural Self.
This writing finally arose … amidst the pause… as part of … the pause. It could not be forced. I could not demand anything of myself. of anything. I have long left the desire to strategize, perform or produce. I am only able to live from the well of spontaneous, natural creative expression. And this way of being… I must trust to not only serve others, but to also serve the needs I have to remain safe, secure and supported int he world.
We live in uncertain times. But, these times are asking us to ‘trust’. They are inviting us to go against how we have been conditioned; or, what others tell us we must do. These times invite us into our super-natural abilities… and co-creative power. They invite us to be inspired… to partner… to support where we feel called… and to trust… trust… and trust even more.
Each decade, offers an opportunity to let go… to let go… of the self that was; to return more and more to the Unknown Self that we each really are.
Allowing prior selves to pass… requires … leaning into pauses, so that awareness awakens. Sacred stillness has always been present within each one of us. The world’s noise, and incessant chatter, has hidden this very subtle aspect of human nature. Your, my, our, and their greatest gift lay in uncovering this. Let us each be the gift of this modeling.
How many people do you see pausing?
How many are running to get, get, get?
Were you conditioned to produce? Produce? Produce?
Doesn’t just watching the busyness of others exhaust you?
Can you see… most of that activity and noise is simply to avoid… Self?
How many ways do others avoid their own pain? Their own power?
How many ways do you avoid your pain? Your power? Your presence?
My dear soul mate… slow down… rest… pause… relax… recline… Wait to be inspired… guided… lifted… activated… awakened… and illuminated into your next best creative impulse. Choose what you … LOVE! And allow every moment to be lived where you LOVE what you do… LOVE who you are… LOVE all that is becoming.
Let the pause guide your steps… And let the pauses tell you when to stop, and when to go. Let the video meditation remind you of what the beauty of pause looks and feels like. Inhale… and exhale deeply.
