Dear Soul Friends, Family and Mates,
For a very long period in my life, I lived outside of my body; disconnected from my feelings, my emotions and heart. All I wanted was to feel. Like many, I searched externally for where I thought answers might be. That only led me to ‘thinking’ my feelings, as most unconsciously do. It was not until I began letting go of the answers —the mind —and stepping into inquiry within the body, the unknown, and the mystery of my heart that I began to find truths within myself.
Our veils, seemingly similar, can often be quite different but the entry into those gossamer sheets that rest between identity, humanity and divinity must be prompted, invited and provoked. We are each unique, designed to express individual experiences of divine expression; journeying upon our intimate bridges of self reflection, awareness and realization.
This is the primary reason for creating this free space… to prompt inquiry, rather than give you answers; and the annual member space —to expand, have practices, and guided visualizations beyond where you may normally access.
The following audio reflects elements of what has been written here, but there are additional nuances within the article that may inspire other thoughts… inquiry… and contemplations. May you receive what you, our heart, and your soul most need at this time…
Illusions are built into life… into the path… into us.
Guided by our senses, thoughts, and emotions, we move through life’s growth spaces—trusting the reality of what is seen, heard, and felt. Yet, when present and open, we can discover a gentle but persistent whisper that points to something greater: an expanded awareness… a whole truth. This world, with all of its beauty and pain, simply portrays a series of reflections, mirages, and plays of illusion. It is easy to get stuck in it being so personal, especially in those spaces that pierce us deeply, but none of it really is; because personhood in and of itself is an illusion.
Your highest service lay within you… cleanse your mind, purify your thoughts, listen to your words, and heal your self-deception.
Illusions do not fully reflect reality. They are perceptions, often derived from our filters of conditioning and wounding, They come from the belief of who we have come to believe ourselves to be. Then, we add to this our relationship to the world that surrounds us. We slip into a very interesting story —a movie —so enamored by the drama that it becomes real to us.
Eastern philosophy describes illusion as Maya—the veils of life and living that obscure the deeper, unchanging truth behind the continually shifting surface of life. Have you ever seen a mirage reflection appear on a hot road? What about the moon’s reflection shimmering on the surface of water? These illustrate how the mind, through our senses, create images that may not be accurate depictions of what is true; yet they appear.
Matter is not as solid as it seems. It forms by what you ‘make matter’.
Have you ever thought about what ‘you make matter’. It all of a sudden begins to appear everywhere. For someone else, this ‘may not matter’, meaning it is not of significance in their experience. This is reality creation, the play of energy, vibration, and presence.
Atoms are the building blocks of our bodies and this world; and consist of mostly empty space united by invisible forces. What we perceive as solid and separate is actually a play of energy and vibration. Attachment to the material world and our identification with the mind and senses keep us creating, and entangled within illusions. Illusions and much of life are of our own making. Others are collective illusions. This is an incredible power we possess.
All creations serve a purpose… all creations contribute to a greater good.
If looking at the world, it may seem that certain creations are bad, or could not possibly serve a greater good; but all thins do. The human mind cannot access the whole picture.
What if… illusions are not mistakes, but necessary parts of the soul’s journey?
What if creations in our world are simply the self-imposed ‘free will’ of the soul, for the purposes of learning, growing and remembering?
Is it possible that various creations, world events, and personal imaginings intersect at some point, so that opportunities for healing and transcendence are available?
Our world of appearances —through joy and sorrow, gain and loss —allows for a deeper look, and the ability to inquire. Through such experiences, we can seek understanding and truth. Life may challenge us, but it also awakens.
Illusion is the dream. Life yearns for our uninhibited nature... our joy… our love…our abundance! Realization is the awakening.
We are not walking aimlessly by ourselves. We are not only in this together, but also have legions of light, ancestry and those who came before us. Additionally, those who came before us —and who still walk among us —left their wisdom, guidance, teaching and truth. The lives of saints, sages, and spiritual teachers serve as examples. They showed us that contentment and clarity are not found in the hunger and chase of fleeting images. They illustrated through their lives that cultivating devotion, presence, and a deeper connection with the divine is the way through illusion.
As you move through your day, become aware of how your perceptions might be shaping your reality.
Where are you only seeing the surface?
What deeper truths are calling to you from beneath the veils?
In this week’s member exploration, I will share the deeper exploration of this —while providing practices and a meditation.
We’ll explore how illusion operates not just daily life, but also within layers of consciousness and the metaphysical fabric of existence. I want to assist you in establishing a path for reconciling these perspectives on your path of awakening.
For now, enjoy contemplating how much of your life is illusion… and how much is lived reality. It is time to move… Beyond the Illusion.
