Dear Soul Friends, Mates and Fellow Travelers,
There is a river that runs through each of us—a current shaped by the stories, struggles, and silent prayers of those who came before. This truth is at the heart of both ancestral wounding and the sacred opportunity for healing.
Many of us carry burdens we cannot name. The body remembers what the mind forgets. The nervous system is shaped by our own experiences, but also by the unresolved pain of our lineages. Patterns of fear, shame, or grief may seem to arise from nowhere, yet they are often the residue of inherited trauma.
It does not matter my age, I am always uncovering things. I find they become more and more subtle in nature, but always go back to Mother, Father, Grandparents, Ancestors and culture. It feels purposeful in ways I may never understand. Although being quite individualized and identity-based, we each have come to heal certain things. Perhaps, this is purely for our own soul’s path. And, since we are truly ‘all one’, it must be for the whole.
This is not a journey of blame or victimhood. Instead, it is a call to radical presence and responsibility. Healing is not about erasing the past but about meeting it with open eyes and an open heart, allowing the energy of old wounds to move, release, and ultimately transform. Our willingness to face the depths within ourselves is an act of devotion—not only to our own soul, but to the collective soul of humanity.
“Stop... balance, explore and gently unfold into your natural, relaxed and organic nature. Live... Be... Know… this truth of who you really are.” — Simran
In a recent conversation with Efu Nyaki, we waded into ancestral waters, to listen deeply, and to discover not only the wounds that echo through generations but also the profound possibility of healing and transcendence. Our lives are not isolated islands. As Efu Nyaki is a healer and teacher from the Snail Clan of Tanzania.
“We are not just individuals; we are the continuation of those who came before us. Their joys, their traumas, their unfinished stories—they live in our bodies, in our hearts, in our very breath.” —Efu Nyaki
Efu Nyaki’s life is a testament to this. Born on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, she carries the “essence and vital healing energy from her ancestors.” Her journey—from science teacher to healer, from Tanzania to Brazil and beyond—demonstrates the power of integrating tradition with innovation, honoring the past while forging new pathways for the future.
Efu Nyaki’s approach—integrating ancestral wisdom, somatic therapy, and family constellations—illuminates a path to wholeness that is both ancient and urgently relevant.
“When trauma gets stuck in the body and psyche, it can profoundly impact health and relationships. Through courage, compassion, and community, we can transform suffering into wholeness.” — Efu Nyaki
The process of ancestral healing is, as Efu describes, “a complex ritual.” It is not linear. It asks us to honor the stories that shaped us, to grieve what was lost, and to reclaim what is ours to live. This may involve:
Somatic Practices: Breathwork, movement, and mindful attention to the body help regulate the nervous system and bring awareness to where ancestral pain is held.
Family Constellations: By mapping out the dynamics of our family systems, we can see hidden loyalties and entanglements, offering love and acknowledgment to those who have been excluded or forgotten.
Creating a Family Tree: This as a tangible step toward understanding and honoring our lineage, bringing light to what has been in shadow.
“With wisdom and vulnerability, we discover how to heal together.” — Efu Nyaki
Healing is not a solitary act but a communal one. In witnessing each other’s stories, we create a field where transformation is possible. To transcend ancestral wounding is not to bypass it, but to become the bridge through which pain is alchemized into wisdom, compassion, and new possibility. As I often remind, “You are not on a journey... YOU are the journey!”

May we walk this path with courage, humility, and grace. And, remember that we may trust, always, in the river of life that carries us home.
In Love, Of Love, With Love, As Love
